Liverpool Hope University is committed to encouraging applications from students with high academic qualifications who will benefit from study in the UK. Liverpool Hope University is pleased to announce a new scheme of International scholarships for students applying for a Liverpool Hope University programme in 2008/09.
International Postgraduate Scholarships are available to Postgraduate applicants and are worth half the tuition fees (e.g. 50% discount on fees). The number of International Postgraduate Scholarships available is five annually. The Interantional Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded by the decision of the University Committee based on academic merit, community involvement, and future aspirations, as shown in the submitted application.
Criteria to apply: Applications are welcome from International students who have achieved first class results in their final degree classification and can demonstrate high academic achievement and high social and community involvement.
How the International Postgraduate Scholarships are judged:
Scholarships applications are reviewed in the preceeding month after the deadline by the Liverpool Hope University Student Finance Committee. Applications are not only judged in terms of academic excellence, but also by the applicant’s social and community contribution. It is important to show on the application the extent to which your study on the chosen Liverpool Hope Postgraduate programme will enhance your future, the future of your community, and the future of your country.
Applications should show how the applicants study will enhance the social and economic development of their home country when they return after their studies. Evidence of relevant paid and/or voluntary work done, or particular contributions to the wider community, should also be included in the application.
Hints and Tips on how to complete the International Scholarship Form
- Please complete all the details, including your name, contact details, student number and qualifications.
- The International Scholarship Application asks you to ‘please indicate why you think you should be considered for an International Postgraduate Scholarship and how you think this would benefit you in your programme of study’; this is your scholarship application statement of purpose. This is the most important part of the application form and will be carefully judged by the University Committee.
- In this statement of purpose try to include details that cover all the criteria: acaedmic achievement/results, charity/volunteer workyou’ve done, community work and contribution, plus future aspirations.
- If you would like to attach a separate Statement of Purpose, please ensure it is sent with the Scholarship Application form and is clearly marked with your name and programme of study.
- Please attach the relevant documents – academic transcripts and academic reference. Scholarship applications can no be accepted without copies of the relevant documents.
Please note:
- The Overseas Scholarship and the International Postgraduate Scholarship are only available to applicants paying full international tuition fees; citizens of the UK, EU and EEA are not eligible to apply
- Applicants must submit an International Scholarship Application Form to the International Office. The application form should be accompanied by an validated transcript and academic reference.
- Application deadlines apply:
For September entry: Scholarship applications must be received by 30th June 2008
For January entry: Scholarship applications must be received by 28th November 2008 - Other terms and conditions apply
- Please note that the University is unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful scholarship applications.
