Teacher (Special Education)

Teaching position to guide and enrich children to their full potential and provide them with a good quality of life.

Accomplished teacher with experience in special education. Skills in child psychology, learning disorder, language development and phonetic sounds, art or music therapy a bonus.

Worked with different age groups (2 – 12 yrs old) from early intervention programs to teens, with severe disability to high functioning individuals which include children with reading difficulties, Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Hyperactivity, Cerebral Palsy, Vision Impairment, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy and Intellectual Disability.

Teacher must be Goal-oriented in enabling creativity of children, seeking new opportunities to build positive social behavior and improving self-esteem.

Able to develop Identify, evaluate and implement individualized educational plans (IEP) that cater to the student’s ability and needs.

Must have the ability to adapt to new challenges and changing environment and must be skilled in selecting and implementing the best teaching materials for use in the sessions.

Able to implement multisensory lesson plans that increase student’s interest in performance and learning, with the ability to bridge lessons to real-life situations.

Personable and empathetic, with the ability to bring out the best in others; pursues collaboration with colleagues and parents to work with students’ difficulties.

In-depth knowledge in guiding students by teaching functional academics (Math, English, Communication, reading, rules and structure) and as well as functional life skills (social communication, self-help skills, independent skills).

Proficient/ experience in TEACCH system, Structured teaching, PECS, ABA

Qualifications:

Diploma in Special Education / Learning Disorders. MOE approved SNOs are welcome.

Teachers (Normal Stream)

Roles and Responsibilities of Senior Teachers / Teachers / Teaching Assistants:

Preparing in advance lesson plans (curriculum) for classes
Conducting the class professionally, yet injecting fun and cultivating love for learning in children
Researching on strong/weak areas of students and facilitating continual breakthroughs for students
Keeping progress reports for individual students
As a communication channel between parent and the school, making suitable recommendations for improvement and providing relevant feedback to the parents consistently.

The roles and responsibilities of the individual teachers vary according to their seniority and capabilities.

Qualifications:

PDGE or NIE-trained or registered teacher with MOE.
Preferably those with good results from PSLE to JC and University.
Fresh Graduates without formal teaching experience but with aptitude and the right attitude are welcome .Experience in managing group lessons are a bonus.
