Pacific Supply/Demand Management

Summary of Position:

Apple’s Pacific Supply Demand Management (SDM) group is responsible for planning and managing supply to meet demand of products within the Pacific Region (Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and Japan). An opportunity exists for a highly motivated professional to join the SDM team as a Regional Planner to support demand fulfillment activities for Pacific Countries on assigned products.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively works with factories and cross-functional teams to ensure availability of finished goods materials in the supply chain, while achieving world class inventory and supply chain management goals.
  • Manage finished good product daily production and inventory at factories and in all regional hubs at world class DOS levels
  • Support smooth transition of new product launches which includes understanding ramp plans and constraints that may impact introduction dates and supply
  • Meet or better Order Cycle Time goals through efficient planning
  • Manage and monitor factories’ performance to ensure commitments are met
  • Work closely with various functional teams, both worldwide and regionally, to ensure timely issues resolution
  • Provide accurate and timely build plans reporting and availability information across all types of management reporting
  • Manage operational issues associated with product reallocation, transfers or rework and resolution of charge back issues.
  • Maximize opportunities for cost savings through freight, rework & hub inventory control
  • Drive, support and participate in planning projects and provide inputs on process improvements to meet management objectives of elimination, simplification and automation of tasks wherever possible

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma holder with at least 5 years’ experience in a Regional Planning role, preferably in a high tech or computer industry and with OEM supply chain management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous with strong business acumen and consumer focus.
  • Able to remain focused and work efficiently under pressure whilst handling multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate initiative, adaptability and problem-solving skills in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Additional requirements include the ability to both think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort in working with numbers.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (Advanced level) and hands-on experience with SAP and Business Objects systems preferred
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Added advantage to be able to speak/write Mandarin or Japanese
