Staff Foundry Engineer -Product Development

JOB REQUIREMENT

This position is responsible for resolving all process and foundry related engineering issues for our business units. Key focus is to provide the necessary process and device electrical parameters to enable design of next generations of storage chips.

Manage the interface between design groups and the foundries. This includes disseminating leading-edge process development information to internal design groups, driving foundry device design to meet future product requirements, and extracting the necessary technical and device performance data for design.

Work with Manufacturing, Central Engineering, and Design to validate design IP. Collect design sensitivity characterization and find solution to bring the same product to all foundries for manufacturing.

Work with the various design engineering teams internally to ensure product tapeouts meets requirements for process widow, manufacturing variation, electrical screening, and reliability. Holds regular pre-design kickoff and pre-tapeout meetings to cover all the necessary implementations for product quality assurance.

Other key responsibilities include handling of product tapeouts, verification of design rule violations, mask data, and process flows. Resolve any issues on proto lots; making a determination whether the problems are design or process related. Additional responsibilities include starting engineering corner lots and evaluation of parametric data vs. sort data. Determine whether the product has enough manufacturing window for release to production.

Job Requirements :

M.S., Ph.D. in engineering field with minimum of 4 yrs of experience
Expertise in process development and device physics
Familiarity with circuit design and Cadence tools
Knowledge of analog design constraints and its interaction with key process parameters
Strong in Data Analysis, design rule implementation, DOE and matrix/split lot design
Experience in New Product Introduction, Characterization, Qualification, and Yield Improvement
Prior experience in troubleshooting IC product issues
Effective communicator
Good business sense to prioritize various projects in accomplishing key company goals
5% travel, domestic and international
