Snr Industrial Designer – 78062
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
You will develop ideas and translate them into design solutions based on an understanding of end user requirements. This would be a result of direct end user research that this position would conduct. You will collaborate with marketing and engineering teams to assure successful implementation of designs, following up with manufacturing and production processes as required. You will be expected to successfully handle several projects concurrently as an industrial design contributor and be able to lead those programs. You will be self-motivating and take ownership of the industrial design aspects of products being developed. You will integrate seamlessly into a global multidisciplinary team that includes Human Factors specialists, cognitive and behavioral scientists as well as interaction designers and you will demonstrate the ability to deliver to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
You will be responsible for our global customer base that sets the stage for a dynamic and professional environment where wireless communication products such as two-way radios, integrated cellphone-radio products, data enabled devices, intelligent assistants, voice and data terminals that are designed; the products will serve the needs of Law Enforcement, Public Safety and Enterprise users in industries as diverse as retail, manufacturing, transportation and mining.
Specific Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
- Degree/Masters in an engineering field with at least 4 years of working experience specializing in industrial design for consumer electronic products.
- You need strong 2-D visualization skills via sketching, Illustrator and Photoshop. An ability to develop 3-D databases in Pro-Engineer and Alias is also required.
- You must demonstrate an ability to appreciate and work with human factors specialists.
- You must posses strong core knowledge in design, with a wide level of sensitivity to culture and user centered design.
- This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and you must demonstrate the ability to present your analyses and design solutions in a compelling manner.
