Researcher/ Research Associate Civil Service College

Civil Service College (CSC) Singapore is a statutory board under the Public Service Division, Prime Minister’s Office. We are the central learning institution for the Singapore Public Service and we play a pivotal role in partnering government ministries and agencies to develop people for a first class public service.

CSC brings together public service officers from diverse backgrounds and provides them opportunities to plug into a service-wide network to exchange views, build shared ethos and perspectives, creating a rich environment for dialogue, knowledge sharing and learning.

Through our programmes and services, CSC aims to build commitment and strategic capacity in governance, leadership, public administration and management for the Singapore Public Service.

Researcher/ Research Associate

You will employ a variety of methodologies, including analysis of primary materials from public agencies, and interviews with public sector leaders and policy practitioners to develop intellectually stimulating case studies, papers or articles, for publication or use in CSC’s programmes. You will create materials targeted at a senior readership, with the aim to foster greater understanding of Singapore’s principles of governance, and serve to catalyse new perspectives and policy insights. You will also work with learning design specialists and programme teams to adapt the materials, facilitate case studies for senior civil servants and contribute towards the strategic directions of Centre for Governance and Leadership (CGL) and CSC.

You should have:

Ability to analyse and write well
Ability to interact with senior public servants and academics
Experience and/or keen interest in research and public policy, specifically in areas of microeconomics such as regulation, competition policy and behavioural economics
Candidates with experience in leading research teams and public presentation/ facilitation skills will have an advantage
Good Degree from a recognised university with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
