RESEARCH SCIENTIST- NEW START UP
(Organic Chemistry)
Reporting to the Research Manager based in Singapore, you are required to :
- Manage the Research and Development laboratory.
- Plan and execute laboratory work based on Chemical Synthesis.
- Allocate resources of the laboratory team.
- Prepare representative samples for PDM process or product registration according to legal requirements based on chemical law.
- Carry out analytical characteristics of laboratory samples by proper analytical methods such as HPLC.
- Develop laboratory & pilot-plant manufacturing procedures.
- Provide technical support in pilot plant scale-up and production of new products.
- Ensure smooth transition of new products to production.
- Ensure proper documentation of all R & D Laboratory work in respective documentation systems e.g. databases.
- Screening of scientific literature and patents for relevant scientific developments in analytical and preparative chemistry.
- Monitor new products and patent applications of competitors.
- Invent new products and procedures and secure a strong IP position by drafting patent applications and technical support for corporate patent attorneys in defending company patents in patent examinations and legal proceedings.
- Ensure security standards in the laboratory, in line with the DyStar code of conduct. This includes complying with occupational health and safety regulations as well as environmental regulations.
- “Hands On” and ability to work in a laboratory environment.
- Manage a team of Research Technologists.
Do you have what it takes?
- Doctorate in Chemistry/Master of Science in Chemistry with comparable professional experience in Chemistry.
- Profound knowledge in preparative Organic and Analytical Chemistry is a Must.
- Good working knowledge in Chemical Synthesis, Manufacturing Technologies and Application Technologies.
- Good written and spoken English is a must.
- Ability to translate customer requirements, ideas and proposals into R & D concepts and creativity to design and invent problem solutions.
- Consciousness for safety, quality and cost matters.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
