National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre

A non-profit organisation, the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre leads and catalyses volunteering and philanthropy initiatives to build a better life for all in Singapore. We are looking for people who have a passion for the people sector and the will to make a difference in the community.

RESEARCH POSITION

The Job:

• Identify research issues that will have a long-term impact on the non-profit sector.
• Carry out primary research (eg field visits and focus groups), and secondary research (eg literature review, reports) involving e.g. individuals, corporations, foundations and non-profit organizations.
• Research may be quantitative or qualitative, done in-house or through research agencies
• Verify, analyse and present findings internally and externally.
• Implement research findings through awards and financial grants to non-profit organisations eg market the grant scheme, build pipeline of applicants, evaluate applications and monitor performance of successful applicants.
• Keep track of cases throughout grant cycle from enquiry stage to end of grant.

Requirements:

• University Degree with background in Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology or equivalent.
• 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience (fresh graduate with research experience may apply).
• Meticulous, with good analytical and report writing skills.
• People and project management skills.
• Interest in working in the non-profit sector; volunteer experience a plus.
• Well-versed in MS Excel and SPSS.
