Our client is one of the leading food and beverage companies in the Asia Pacific region with more than 20 years of operating history. They are growing and expanding in Singapore and are looking for candidates with the right experience and passion to join them.

Purchasing Manager

Reporting to the Country Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to source goods and services used by Company at best prices and value without compromising on quality and to achieve a cost savings of at least 10% of our annual purchases. Your duties include:

• Responsible to build a close rapport with established market leading vendors as well as alternative vendors for all top business products.
• Ensure continuous and uninterrupted supply of the vendors’ goods and services to meet all business demands.
• Oversee the timely management and successful Halal Certification applications for all new products from time to time.
• Conduct and monitor all material usage and minimise obsolete stock and purchases.
• Oversees the daily processing orders for the factory, plants and all business units.
• Monitor, follow up checks and liaison with suppliers’ on daily orders to ensure timely delivery and accuracy in stock delivery.
• Closely monitor timely review and update of products’ demand and supply in relation to operational requirements.
• Monitor and review product pricing due to market and seasonal fluctuations and secure best unit price for all purchases.
• Collate and maintain up-to-date Market Price List for quarterly reviews.

You must have a Degree/Diploma in Procurement/ Purchasing Management or its equivalent with a minimum 7 years’ of relevant experience in a similar capacity. You should have sound technical competencies to function independently and strong business acumen. You play an important liaison role between vendors and the internal departments as well as provide support and coordination to departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply of products and services. Decisive with good leadership, excellent negotiation and communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
