PROCUREMENT ENGINEERS/ MANAGER (BASED IN CHINA)

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Supply Chain Management.
Bet. 5-10 yrs of relevant experience in purchasing or supply chain management in Manufacturing Industry
Experience in low volume high mix manufacturing environment is advantageous.
Possess a good track record of min. 3yrs in procurement or supply chain management
Must have experience in machining workshops & sourcing in China.
Team player, self driven & able to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, preferably Baan.
Good command of spoken & written English & Mandarin

Responsibilities

Manage procurement of mechanical commodity & mechanical related processes.
Lead a team of procurement engineers / buyers to achieve procurement goals.
Formulate, develop and implement strategies for global sourcing.
Negotiate aggressively for best prices and terms from suppliers.
Engage in supplier sourcing and selection.
Co-ordinate projects to drive materials cost reduction.
Work with suppliers and functional groups to increase the success rate of RFQs.
Work with Purchasing to ensure supply continuity and improving supplier deliver-on-time.
Work with Purchasing to initiate actions for inventory reduction and proactively manage E&O to minimize obsolescence risk.
Manage supplier performance to achieve deliverables in key performance measures.
