Network Engineer

Job Description

Provisioning and operational tasks for IP, International Leased Circuits, Datacenter and ATM/FR services in Indonesia.
Handle network upgrading projects such as backhaul upgrades and installation of new equipment (Marconi, Nortel, Cisco).
Assist with any new card insertion, card swap, card returns, cabling and troubleshooting of network faults.
Assist any overseas REACH NOCs in resolving any circuit or network faults.
Local loop quotations, ordering and provisioning.
Local loop supplier relationships.
Perform planned event activities after office hours for network augmentation of fault resolution.
Be on standby after office hour and during weekends for recall back to other countries or cable stations for any network or customer fault.

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma holder in Engineering/Telecommunications or a related discipline plus a minimum of two-three years relevant experience and with at least one year involving or relating to IP technology. Cisco certification of CCNA or higher level preferred.
Experience and knowledge of Cisco Hardware and Software capabilities as used in the Service provider environment.
Ability to use BERT testers such as Acterna ANT-5 / Sunrise Sunset is an advantage.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Decisive, independent, efficient and cost conscious.
Good command of written and spoken English is essential, a good command of spoken Mandarin is desirable. Ability to speak Cantonese is an advantage.
