Material Planning & Purchasing Manager

The Material Planning & Purchasing Manager role covers the material planning, purchasing, and execution for all the material requirements at the Batam Manufacturing site. The incumbent works in close collaboration with the production manager and Plant Manager to deliver the production schedule that meets the inventory requirements of business. In addition the incumbent will work in collaboration with the strategic sourcing manager based in Switzerland and the central planning manager based in Antibes French, and be responsible for all activities related to purchasing and management of material inventories at the plant.

Other activities performed in this role include the following:

Daily Material Requirements and procurement activities
New product introduction and critical path
Price maintenance and reconciling invoice discrepancies
Maintenance and accuracy of the Bill Of Material
Supplier relationship
Cycle counting and material inventory reconciliation, discrepancy investigation
Work with the quality team for disposition of rejected material
Supplier audits
Supplier performance (Service, Cost, and Quality)
Manage and support Vendors on VMI Vendor managed inventory and Consignment process
Develop and deliver cost savings
Product Life Cycle-managing new material and end of life material for minimal obsolescence
Support global sourcing initiatives and vendor transitioning
Support of sales and operations planning process

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Has min. 5 years experience in the same position.
Direct hands on experience and knowledge of MRP II concepts and practices
Demonstrated planning skills
Planning and organization
Good in improvement challenging, active, innovative, and excellent in communication and management skill
Teamwork and good interpersonal skills in International Organization.
Computer skills – ERP System
Problem solving and decision making
Degree in related field and Fluent in English Language

DESIRED SKILLS:

Purchasing and negotiating experience
Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
APICS Certification in CIRM or CPIM (Certified production and inventory manager), or CPM (certified purchasing manager)
Experience in a matrix global US organization is a plus
