CAN YOU ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE TO WORK IN A START UP RESEARCH LABORATORY?
LABORATORY TECHNOLOGISTS – NEW START UP – 3 NEW AND CHALLENGING POSITIONS
Reporting to the Research Scientist based in Singapore, you are required to :
- Prepare chemical reactions and physical processes.
- Execute work instructions, order notes and regulations and planning practical experiments.
- Calculate operational quantities, construction and dismantling of laboratory equipment, measuring and weighing of chemicals.
- Implement chemical reactions, experimental observation and analysis of experiments through basic operation of laboratory techniques.
- Carry out finishing (introduction of auxiliaries and de-dusting) of textile dyestuffs as directed.
- Perform simple preliminary application technology (e.g. laboratory dyeing)
- Analyse and investigate textile dyes and their precursors (HPLC, GC, DC, determination of material characteristics), including sample preparation and analysis of test results.
- Create test requests to other department (analystics, PD)
- Compile test results, observations and analytical and physico-chemical investigations as well as simple experimental evaluation.
- Document all tests performed in the laboratory journal and Dybase.
- Transfer laboratory procedures to the pilot plant in an operational scale.
- Perform general laboratory work (cleaning, repair and maintenance of equipment and laboratories, ensure correct disposal of waste).
- Organise work flow in the laboratory (co-ordination of work processes, procurement of equipment, chemicals and consumable, administration of experimental samples and chemicals, monitoring of test materials).
- Supervise and guide trainees in their roles
- Conduct proper implementation of tests adhering strictly to rules and regulations directed from your supervisor.
- Ensure safe work environment adhering strictly to rules and regulations.
- Ensure quality is attained
- Manage the experimental protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness of the workplace.
Do you have what it takes?
For candidates who have more years of experience, he/she will be considered for a Senior Research Technologist role.
- DEGREE IN CHEMISTRY or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 1- 3 years of relevant working experience. For those with more relevant work experiences, you will be considered for a Senior Research Technologist role.
- Alert, with good observation and manual skills
- Good knowledge of the properties of chemical substances used, particularly toxicity, reactivity, and risk potential.
- Good knowledge of expected chemical reactions in particular dangerous reactions.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations and implementing such regulations.
- Working knowledge of the activities of chemical laboratory related environmental hazards (air and water pollution and odour)
- Consciousness of safety and quality
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
