IT Systems Engineer

Job Description:

The candidate will have strong IT knowledge and be familiar with ORACLE/web applications architecture. Will analyze and carry out the performance of the ALERT® suite of products installed at customer sites.

Primary responsibilities include implementing availability and performance methodologies and procedures, as well as monitoring and optimizing system performance, responding to critical events, integration issues, configuration settings and analyzing code.

With great decision making skills must be able to work with minimal supervision.

He/she will have to properly document and track all interactions regarding reported issues using all teams within ALERT.

He/She will have to perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ORACLE Database, application servers and systems, develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation.

Decisions and work methods must comply with established procedures, workflows, practices and guidelines.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology;
Experience in Windows/Linux (RedHat) and application/web server (Apache/Tomcat) administration;
2-3 years experience in ORACLE DB administration;
Thorough knowledge of PL/SQL;
2-3 years of hands-on experience in system support;
Experience in high-availability (24/7) system maintenance;
Excellent problem-solving skills with solution-driven focus;
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English);
Exceptional documentation and reporting skills;
Willingness and availability to travel as needed.
