Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is the parent company of the award-winning attractions – Jurong BirdPark, Night Safari and Singapore Zoo. WRS strives to be a world-class leisure attraction, providing excellent exhibits of animals (and birds) presented in their natural environment, for the purpose of conservation, education and recreation. In year 2007, Jurong BirdPark served 900,000 visitors, the Night Safari, more than 1.1 million visitors and Singapore Zoo welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors. WRS parks have been conferred the Best Leisure Attraction Experience Award at the Singapore Tourism Awards 18 times. The record achievement affirms WRS parks’ status as Singapore’s premier leisure venues.

General Curator

You will manage the zoology and fish departments in our new park. You will be involved in the planning and setting up of the animal and fish collection including selection of exhibition themes and designs. You will lead a team to achieve international leadership position. You will work with Sales, Marketing, Communications and Education Departments to develop and maintain active programmes within the park with the aim of optimising profitability balanced with wildlife conservation and education. You will liaise with international zoological and scientific institutions on conservation and research programmes including staff exchanges.

Requirements:

• Degree in Zoology or Animal Related Science or Veterinary Degree
• Minimum 15 years relevant experience in a Wildlife Park/Sanctuary or Zoo/Aquarium
• Proven ability in the set-up, design and development of new animal exhibits and facilities
• Possess a wide network of international zoological and scientific institutions
• Possess strong business acumen and able to lead and motivate a team
• Superior natural history and animal husbandry skills, knowledge of animal behavior assessment techniques and enrichment capabilities
