FULL TIME LECTURER – INTERIOR DESIGN

We are inviting applicants to apply for a full-time lecturing position for the major of Interior Design at 3D Design Department.

The lecturer is responsible to organize and deliver lectures, tutorials and consultations in Interior Design and other related areas. Other main areas of responsibility include syllabus planning and development, course management, class management, student assessment and implementation of teaching and learning strategies of Interior Design.

The lecturer will also assist in organizing departmental activities such as exhibitions, competitions, students’ industrial practical training programme, site / field visits and graduation show, etc. Establishing and maintaining links with the industry and institutions are part of the job’s requirement.

The lecturer will also be involved in other admin duties including budget planning & monitoring, facilities and equipment up-keeping and maintenance etc.

Pre-requisites

A Master’s Degree in the relevant fields (Interior Design, Furniture Design, Exhibition Design, or equivalent, etc)
At least 5 years of relevant industrial working experience, preferably with some experience in an education environment
Good knowledge of drawing/presentation techniques such as 3D Studio Viz/Max/AutoCad, etc. Proficient in SketchUp, Rhinoceros or other modelling software is a plus
Formal training in teaching pedagogy and methodology an added advantage
A flair for teaching, and has the patience, understanding and passion to interact with students
Microsoft proficient and is IT savvy
Good command of the English language (both written and oral); proficiency in Chinese language is an advantage
Good administration, organization and interpersonal skills
