Drive the strategy

Our client is a world leader in the development and manufacture of building materials. Their Sydney site now requires an EH&S Manager to effectively contribute to the business growth strategy through improving the overall performance of the site.

The Role

The primary purpose of the role is to implement and drive the EH&S strategy across the manufacturing and other site operations. The role is also central to the continuous improvement of the site through the development of an injury free mindset, reduction of injury costs and environmental compliance.

The principal accountabilities are to:

Develop and implement EH&S improvement plans to achieve an injury free culture via the application of systems, equipment, and behavioral initiatives
Identify of areas for change and the develop and implement changes to achieve safety and environmental outcomes
Develop appropriate KPI’s and objectives
Ensure that systems comply with company and statutory requirements
Provide support and guidance to management on workers’ compensation and injury management
Identify and manage risk

The Person

You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. You will have tertiary qualifications in EH&S. in addition you will be required to demonstrate that you have;

A comprehensive knowledge of NSW safety and rehabilitation legislation
Successfully managed the return of injured workers back into the workplace using structured return to work programs
Managed the insurance and NSW WorkCover process from commencement of claim to return to work
Worked with insurers in managing claims and with insurer processes and systems
Implemented a wide variety of EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment
Proven investigative skills in the application of risk management principles to initiate new ideas and creative solutions for the control of EH&S risks.
