Director of Sales & Distribution – Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen
The Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen is a new hotel opening in February 2009. The hotel is located on Bencoolen Street which is in the heart of Singapore’s business and cultural district. The hotel is equipped with 538 rooms, one restaurant and a bar.
Director of Sales & Distribution
We are looking for a Director of Sales & Distribution who is able to manage the Sales Department to ensure a smooth opening and running of the hotel. The Director of Sale & Distribution will be responsible for maximizing the revenue, ensuring a reasonable balance between the average rate and occupancy as well as continually improving the RevPar for the hotel.
Job Description Summary:
- Be accountable for managing the total sales effort within the hotel including the integrity of the customer bases of key accounts / key prospects, the generation of revenue consistent with Hotel objectives.
- Promoting sales through the recruitment and training of staff and the fixing of their targets.
- Participate in the sales process, both by training new staff and by providing support during negotiations.
- Be aware of business peaks and contribute innovative ideas that contribute to the revenue and profitability of the Hotel.
- Achieve a level of service quality and professionalism that consistently meets and preferably exceeds the expectations of guests.
- Promotes the hotel as often as possible through entertaining, conducting site inspections, and presentations etc. of the Hotel.
- Develop the sales strategy for his or her sector in accordance with sales department policy. In doing this, he or she must use the all the systems available to put in place a suitable sales organisation whilst seeking new directions for sales growth.
- Analyse and check the growth of the market in his or her sector, producing monthly reports, setting management indicators, analysing statistics and managing a budget.
To be successful in this position you will have to have a proven experience as a Director of Sales in the hotel industry and be capable of promoting the hotel in a competitive market. Be capable of managing the Sales Department to maximize market position of the Hotel on an ongoing basis. Have excellent communication and people skills. Having been part of a pre-opening is an advantage.
