Credit Risk Analyst – Asia

Summary of Job:

Credit Risk Analyst to be responsible for part of a customer portfolio covering 650 live worldwide customers to:

Ensure the quality of lease investments in the area.
Manage overall underwriting process, and portfolio management.
Ensure successful integration of Credit Risk procedures in the region.
Preparation of management information on ad hoc basis.
Assist Group Credit Risk manager on adhoc requirements.
Visiting customers as necessary to update reviews.

Reports to: Group Credit Risk Manager

Location: Singapore

Key Tasks and Activities:

Performance

Assess creditworthiness of customers
Ensure the quality of reviews completed
Ensure information is updated on large and/or growing and/or problematic customers
Communicate about the inherent risks taken
Be transparent
Monitor the portfolio risk,
Perform regular customer visits
Prepare financial / operations reports and maintain Credit Risk record files

Processes

Assess and monitor the Credit Risk management processes
Monitor credit compliance

Area Covered:

Asian regions and other regions on ad-hoc basis

Key Relationships:

Internal: Director of Collections & Credit Risk department. Group Credit Risk Manager, Credit Committee, Marketing Head, Area Managers, Macro Team and Marketing Team, Collections Team – all pertaining to credit issues related to customers

External:

Customer – gathering information to update customer credit profile and ascertain creditworthiness.
Lawyer – legal matters
Banks – Due diligence check

Qualifications Required (if any):

A bachelor’s degree either in business administration, banking and finance or accounting will have added advantage.
5 – 6 years’ experience in credit analysis. Knowledge of the shipping industry will have added advantage.

Key Skills/Knowledge Required:

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), in English and Chinese (Mandarin / Cantonese)
Negotiation Skill/Diplomacy
Training Abilities
International Exposure
Excellent computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows based applications
