Tropicana Ltd is one of the largest trading company in the East New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea is located east of Irian Jaya and is a nation on its own, rich in natural resources. East New Britain is the island province to the North of the PNG mainland. It is considered one of the most scenic places in PNG.
We are looking for experienced Construction/Building Project Manager to help us in our property development business.
CONSTRUCTION / BUILDING PROJECT MANAGER
You will be required to work independently and be in charge of all aspects of the project from design to procurement to outsourcing/tendering to project management. You will be working closely with the owner to achieve the correct design criteria, prepare detailed drawing by yourself/outsource, arrange the import of most of the materials from China/Indonesia, assemble team and tender out work items to subcontractors, oversee the project from construction through to interior works. Your projects will mostly be warehouse and residential projects.
Min Requirements:
- Proficient in both oral and written English
- 5 years experience in residential and warehouse constructions
- Bachelor or S1 degree in Civil Engineering/Building Construction from a reputable university
- Willing to relocate to Papua New Guinea under contract for min of 3 years
- Max 48 years old
Technical skills:
- Design skills specially for residential and warehouse (steel structure)
- Understands how to use CAD
- Proficient in project estimating and budgeting
- Able to generate contracts for tendering to subcontractors
- Able to assemble/recruit team for building projects
- Able to control and manage the whole project
- Able to carry out through all its phases i.e. from construction to interior fit out
Other requirements:
- Have a good sense of taste in design
- Strong leadership
- Good reporting skills
- Able to communicate well to suppliers
- Excellent communication skills
- Speaking Mandarin is an advantage
- Reading and Writing Chinese is a great advantage
- Thrives for high quality of workmanship
