Cognos Operations Analyst

Location: Tuas

Reporting to the GDS Cognos Operations Team Lead in NA, you will provide leadership to the off shore regional support team following a 12 x 2 support model.

You will serve as local COGNOS Administrator in Asia Pacific and EMEA working with the extended US team acting as Merck liaison to local support teams, client facing and the offshore vendor team by being available during US off hours. Build regional leadership, identify follow-on opportunities and collaborate with local project teams. Provide local subject matter expertise to clients and other teams and socialize best practices developed by GDS

You will be responsible for the offshore ITIL disiplines Asset Management: Changemanagement, Incident and Problem Manager for Cognos and work with local infrastructure teams and US teams to communicate, report and resolve issues. This responisiblity incudes responding to monitor alerts and emergencies for systems via pager /cell phone if necessary. Facilitate license management and tracking.

You will extend the bandwidth of the GDS ops team and assist with testing, diagnosing issues, and quarterly Release Management deployment activities for continuous improvements to Global infrastructure and performance optimization.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. Desired: Six Sigma a preferred, certification in Cognos.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Working experience of Cognos Series 7, Series 8, Reportnet, Metric’s studio, Cognos ePlanning, Remedy, including ITSM best practises, and process management, A good understanding of server administration, oracle, Ldap, Security administration, remote access, wireless, unix basic commands, WAN, LAN and firewalls
Possess excellent communications skills, detail oriented, and have strong strategic skills
Effective communication across all levels and regions
Required to work be on call off hours if neccessry and participate in Maintenance Releases on selected weekends.
Performance driven, flexible team player with the ability to thrive in an evolving, dynamic environment
