Chief Financial Officer

The Job:

  • Set up the Finance & Accounting system and procedures for the several branches
  • To actively participate in the strategic business planning process and provide financial guidance and advice to the management team consistent with the overall financial policy.
  • To provide overall leadership and direction to all finance issues within the group.
  • Keep abreast of latest updates in accounting standards and be involved in training the regional and international finance teams on accounting, policies and standards.
  • Working with and exchanging foreign currencies.
  • Prepare full set of accounts in accordance with the local and international accounting requirements and provide monthly, quarterly and yearly submission of financial reports to be audited
  • GST, VAT claims and issues, taxation, audit and other relevant issues (ensuring that all requirements are met)
  • To contribute to strategic business planning and development through tax planning.
  • To liaise with auditors, bankers, lawyers, and relevant authorities across the regions and countries when necessary, particular within the Asian region, countries such as India, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
  • To carry out special projects from time to time as required by the management.
  • To carry out monthly performance review and analysis.
  • To perform budgeting and periodic re-forecasting.
  • Treasury management.

The Person:

  • Capable of working in a company which has passed the start up phase, and is now ready for revenue
  • Overseas travel, based either in Bangkok or Singapore
  • Minimum a master degree in Accountancy or its equivalent
  • Approximately 15 years working experience,
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment within a new and rapidly developing market and company
  • Ability to work effectively across international borders and understanding of international accountancy
  • Knowledge and ability to work with and understand the exchange and utilization of foreign currencies.
  • Fluent in English, including reading and writing. Either a native speaker or at least 5 years of overseas experience;
  • Great interpersonal, communication, organization and diplomatic skills to deal with regional and international cultural issues;
  • Analytically minded with an eye for details and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and computer skills;
  • Background in travel, insurance or medical industries
  • A plus; cultural experience and proficiency in a 2nd or 3rd language, such as Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, Arabic, Malaysian, Taiwanese, Russian, German or other European languages.

Place of work : Singapore or Bangkok

Salary : negotiable, depending on experience and capabilities

Job Type : 1 year contract, with the possibility of a full time position being offered.
