Formed in 2003, the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) plays a vital role in transforming Singapore into a Global Media City and positioning it at the forefront of the digital media age. MDA spearheads initiatives that promote developments in film, video, television, radio, publishing, music, games, animation, media services and Interactive Digital Media. At the same time, in ensuring clear and consistent regulatory policies and guidelines, MDA helps to foster a pro-business environment for industry players and increase media choices for consumers. Assistant Director (Media Content)
Prerequisites
You should have an honours degree in Media, Arts, Social Studies or Political Science with at least 8 years of relevant experience in the media industry. A strong analytical mind, an interest in new technological developments and good writing and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
You will assist in the development of a content standards policy framework that promotes social and economic interest in Singapore. You will review content standards and classification policies for broadcast, film and publication sectors in consultation with advisory committees, public and industry (including the administration of all content advisory committees) to ensure that MDA’s guidelines are in line with industry and international best practices. You will be required to monitor and commission surveys and research to study social, technology trends and its impact on community values and content standards. You will also be required to analyse these trends and public feedback to draft policy papers and reports that will assist in the formulation of a forward looking content standards policy framework for new and traditional media sectors.
