Assistant Chief Engineer

Job Descriptions

Monitor and maintain the normal operation of all plants and equipment within the complex to ensure they are operated in a safe and efficient manner
Coordinate and supervise the planned maintenance activities carried out by the contractors and in-house technicians for building services, systems and equipment in order to meet the required objectives
Lead a team of foremen and technicians to deliver quality mechanical and electrical facilities for the complex
Direct the foremen and technicians on routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations. Closely monitor the effects of servicing and maintenance on their condition wherever possible. Ensure that all records of maintenance and testing are kept
Conduct on-site inspection and monitor the work progress. Supervise the contractors to carry out the mechanical and electrical maintenance and urgent repair works to ensure their works are in compliance with the required specifications and standards
Estimate job duration, and assess manpower, materials, tools and equipment, special services such as disconnecting power, erecting scaffolding etc. required for the job. Ensure that an adequate stock of spare parts is maintained
Analyze the defects of the plants and equipment, and initiate the corrective actions
Develop onsite training curriculums for apprenticeship programs and maintain a continual measured improvement in all trades craft and technical areas

Job Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in Building Services, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum three years experience in a similar capacity of hotel or building facility maintenance preferred
Sound knowledge on operation and maintenance, renovation practices and related local ordinances
Have a good command of English and Chinese
Possess good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
Be able to work under pressure
Get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team
Be willing to work any day of the week and any shift
Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies
Have a well groomed, professional appearance
