Twilight is getting slammed byt the critics, How do you feel about that?

NERDGASM I've been reading online about critic reviews about "Twilight" The good reviews are few and far between.

Chappy:
If the movie had been good then it would be recieving good reviews. too bad it sux
Campbell:
The good reviews are few and far between because most critics have a brain. Put aside your undying love for the Twilight series and all you have is a poorly scripted, poorly acted, and poorly made movie. I'm not bashing the Twilight books, but that movie was really, REALLY bad.
nena:
i personally like twilight, but there will always be haters. nd because of the fact that its way successful, there will always be people trying to bring it down. in the end every1 has they're own opinion.
btopishere:
Twilight is 43% fresh on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes. It deserves such horrible reception for being so freaking mediocre, and stupid teenagers will buy into this mediocrity. America saw the wrong vampire film this year. They should have really seen "Let the Right One In", which is 97% fresh on the Tomatometer and probably one of the few masterpieces of this year.
tucker_ficklin:
Do critics like anything good?
No.
JOSEPH A:
Very few critics are teenage girls
Redeemed in Christ:
I can live with it. I really don't care what the critics say-I liked it.

They're entitled to their opinion-I'm entitled to mine.
Bookworm:
I thought it was OK. The special effects were way cheesy, like when the vampires jumped, it looked like they were flying and when Edward was running really fast through the woods, it didn't even look like his feet touched the ground. When Edward was with Bella it seemed kind of awkward. I'm so happy they got Edward and all the other vampires' eyes right because I felt that that was a major part in the book. The scene in the ballet studio was sort of weird because it wasn't exactly how I thought it happened in the book. Oh well. I liked it anyway, even though I've seen better movies based on books.
venus_smrf:
The movie was really bad, so the reviews were deserved. I went to see it last night, and I honestly considered walking out.

For one thing, the acting was...bad. The people playing Edward and Bella kept stuttering and gasping, and judging by their expressions and the tones of their voices, I think all of their problems could have been solved if they'd just had a thing of Ex-Lax handy. They seriously looked constipated. And Edward is supposed to be intense, but for some reason, the intensity came out at the wrong times. He came off kind of creepy and stalker-y and annoying. If I'd been Bella-in-the-movie, I'd have written him off as mentally disturbed and walked away.

Also, Edward's hair was irritating enough in itself. It looked like he'd stuck his finger in a light socket and then used way too much gel to freeze it in place. He was not attractive enough to pull off Edward, and it didn't help that the "vampire" look apparently is the exact same as the "stoned-beyond-reason" look. There was actually a scene where he climbed a huge tree and practically curled up in a fetal position, then started rocking back and forth. I think he was going through withdrawal or something.

That said, I don't think there are many guys who could have pulled off Edward anyway--that's the problem with creating a character that's so much larger than life. Still, since he couldn't act and wasn't attractive, I think the only reason this particular guy was chosen was because he had such a pronounced jaw line. Not many guys have such chiseled features, and that alone probably got him the role.

There were some good points to the movie. The people cast as Alice, Emmett, Rosalie and Jacob were perfect choices. Rosalie was snippy and obnoxious, Alice was quirky and fun, Jacob WAS Jacob, and Emmett...there was a scene where they decided to hunt down James, and Emmett was practically giggling with joy at the thought. It was awesome.

Oh, and James and Co. were also very well cast. Eric was a lot less geeky in the movie than in the book, which was great, though Mike was MORE geeky and if it weren't for the fact that Mike was described differently in the books and the guy playing Eric was Asian, I'd have switched their roles. The dad wasn't my first choice but turned out to be surprisingly amusing, and Angela and Jessica were good picks. Too bad it didn't matter since the main roles were so horribly miscast.

Bottom line? Avoid this movie. I've read the books dozens of times and thought I would never get tired of them, but having seen this, I don't think I'll be reading them ever again. It was that painful.

as an avid Twi-hard fan, I was sadly dissapointed with the movie. They cut so many scenes and it just wasn't up to my standards. The book was amazing, and the movie was good too, but not as great as the hype said. If you hadn't read the book, you'd love it, but if you love the book, you'd think it was just OK. I saw the movie today.

Well since Twilight is popular a lot of people bring it down, because I guess they are trying to be different and hate reading what a bunch of other people read. I personally love Twilight, it's a very good book. =]

Oh and if you're talking about the movie, it was okay. They cut a lot of important parts though..
merbear:
I feel that they are right on. The movie was not good. The acting, the cast, the movie overall was just not good. I immensely disliked it. I had a much better image in my head when I read it. There were very select few parts that I liked.

PS - The fan base is OUT OF CONTROL. The fan girls were so loud during the movie. It really ruined my experience in the theater. My friends saw it the night it came out and apparently their lives were so changed after seeing the movie that they were too cool to talk to me the day after :) Nice, right?
Mrs. Edward Cullen:
i feel that twilight is amazing and the critics are just saying that because that slam everything good now adays so the book is good and the movie was good since it is based on the book
CourtneyLynn♥:
i saw the movie today. and i think the books were better. In the movie everything happened so fast. It was boring. I dont think the next movies are going to get good reviews. If i were you i'd read the book.
?:
i LOVE TWILIGHT but i didn't see the movie yet so i have no idea how it was but i hope its good :[
but i bet the books are better :]
angel_baby:
Well the movie was pretty bad. Those who hadn't read the books were sorta lost watching the movie since they rushed through it. It had bad reviews because it was poorly scripted.
Elenisilelf:
The movie was made for fans. I loved it because I love the books. However, from someone who has no idea about anything, I can totally see why the think the movie wasn't very good. And most people who watch it can admit, it wasn't a very good MOVIE, the plot and the books are what make it so popular.
7 of 9:
some acting was a little...welll for 14 year old girls when edward tells Bella she is like morphine or a drug, I can;t rememebr the lien exactly. The movie is funny, however, but meant for teenage girls.
Brooklyn!:
alright i read the book and i loved it and i watched the movie opening night and i loved it. Edward was amazing at his role but kirsten couldve done a better job at being bella but it was acceptable.
people have different imaginations and they see the characters differently and they get to caught up in there imaginations and when they see the movie they get all worked up on how they hated it cause it wasnt wat they thought it would be. Its hollywood. nothings going to be the same as the book. thats just the way things work in this works now adays. people need to get a grip and stop living in fantasy world. everyone pictures edward and bella differently but sadly those people in our minds dont exsist. I thought the special effects prolly couldve been better and more realistic but you know we cant have everything we want.

i thought edward was great. it should that he was really falling in love with bella yeah he stared a lot and pople thought he was a stalker but if you dont notice guys just stare at girls when they fall in love to find more things to fall in love with. I dont think no one couldve done it better. i think he was amazing.
The dad was hilarious an
Sharon X:
I am fine with the critic's review because it really wasn't that great of a movie. I read the books but the feel of the movie was so off I thought I was watching something else.

The only people I have seen really really enjoying it are girls who are 14 yr old and people who act like 14 yr olds. I do not need them to scream at the screen every time that Edward comes on.
Stephie:
It's getting bad reviews but it still did awesome at the box office, and i for one never listen to critics I always see it for myself and make up my own opinion, so the critics slamming it doesn't really bother me,I know I liked it and that it all that matters.
