Most of the cites are worthless (people promoting it without explaining what it is).

It appears to be 'affiliate marketing' which is a buzzword for data entry/spamming which a) pays very little and b) tends to get you banned from many sites. If you joined up and stared sending your friends IM spam, you'd lose all your friends!

Virtually all of the money is the money ($39.99? $47? Try to leave the site without paying and the price drops to $17) you pay her to her to find out "how" to do it.
