why did general hospital only let genie francis come back for a short time, dont they know she boosts ratings?

1. I don't think she wants to stay around that long.

2. They don't want to kill the whole Luke and Laura reunion thing

and 3. She is too old to be running around chasing bad guys and playing the heroine.

When she signed on to play Laura again she put it in her contract that she would only stay for a short period of time. However, be prepared because I was told that she has some surprises coming for us.

She wants to come back longer but Jill Farren Phelps says they can't afford her, which I call bs on. If they wouldn't work actors over their minimums and quit using so many useless dayplayers so much like Max, Milo, Alice and Epiphany, they could save a fortune which could be used to keep Genie. Also, there are quite a few contract actors that don't bring in the ratings Genie does that they should either give pay cuts to or get rid of altogether to pay Genie.
