Any tips on filming a car chase scene?

Moonwalker I'm an independant filmmaker and a film student. I'm currently in the middle of making a film. I have the production notebook done (everything from script and storyboards, to budget and shooting schedule). We begin filming this saturday and the first scene we're filming is a car chase scene. I don't have a lot of experience and i've never shot a chase scene before. Do you have any helpful hints for me? Camera placement, interesting shots, cutaways, or any other tidbits that would help me to make an interesting and professional looking chase scene? Thanks!

JUST MAKE ONE SUPER CAR CHASING AN OLD CAR BUT THE OLD CAR HAVE SOMETYPE OF SPECIAL ENGINE WHICH RUNS MORE FASTER THEN THE RACING CAR .

slightly slowing the camera speed, so that when played at normal speed the images are faster- makes for the illusion that the vehicles are moving faster and more dangerously, thereby heightening the tension in the scene. it also helps make it a bit safer since you don't have to have a car going at high rates of speed. using a lens of the proper focal length can help too- use one the flattens the image some what, and the vehicles will appear to be closer together than they actually are.

use a camcorder

air bags and helmets. remember safety first. u dont want a sh1t load of dead people caus u forgot to add seatbelts or roll cages. roll cages are very important caus it stops the car from squashing together

Planning. Decide what you want the sequence to show, where, when and how. Create a story board, or use toy cars to show how this thing should look.
