Election Results FAQ

Is there any way I can have the election result texted to my phone? I just checked CNN.com and they said that the last state to close its polls will be Alaska at 1 am ET. I plan on being asleep at that time lol. My wireless provider is Cingular. I already tried to get CNN breaking news alerts but they only work for Verison customers. Anyone know of a good REPUTABLE source that would be able to text me the results? Thanks in advance!

why does it take so long to get the final results of an election? and why do candidates analyze the election results>?

I thought the results would come in quick if it is on computers but then they said on tv could be too close to call some states initially, so are results in or is it just exit polls?

What if Bush wants to be president longer? Can't he do that somehow, or just give the presidency to McCain regardless of the results?

I know this depends on how close the election is, and a number of other factors, but what would be the earliest that the election would be called? Would I miss all the good stuff if I'm on an airplane until 10 p.m. Central time on election night?

Also, where can i find the results. What part is most likely to win a seat ? Can you please tell me the likely hood of BMP getting a seat?

I heard on the radio (WABC in NY) that the superdelegates can overturn the results of the Democrapic primary, meaning if the people vote for Obama, the party elite could overrule their voice and nominate Hillary. Please tell me this is NOT true. And the pols wonder why people don't vote anymore.

The Dept Of Energy now says we have an impending Gasoline and Diesel fuel shortage coming soon. What will that do to the Election Results. And given that the Congress does the work of of Bills and Laws in the USA and its now Democrat, will a lot of blame go to them instead of Bush a Republican. Congress afterall should be doing more than just sitting around too, Bush shouldnt be getting all the credit either. Given that fact how will the Election go?

During the Nov 2006 election an amendment to raise property taxes by 30 percent in Jackson County were approved by state wide balloting. Also is this legal, i.e., state wide balloting for local county issues? It certainly doesn't appear ethical?
