This Ghent University programme provides master grants to candidates from developing countries who wish to obtain a master’s degree at Ghent University. The grants are available for all master programmes at Ghent University. They are awarded for the duration of the studies with a maximum of 2 years. In case of a two-year-programme the scholarship will only be paid for the full term if the student successfully completes the first year of the programme.

The scholarship consists of an allowance of 964 euro per month plus the yearly tuition fee.

In Collaboration with the Norwegian Research Council, DION (The interest organization for doctoral candidates at NTNU) and NTNU Technology Transfer, do NTNU Entrepreneurship Center give a total of six grants for PhD. candidates with product ideas in relation to their PhD. thesis.

With this grant the Norwegian Research Council wants to stimulate the process of bringing the good
ideas out to the market. Those receiving the grant will get funding and guidance to help them explore the potential of their product idea. This will be done through writing a business plan which include central areas such as the market potential, further product development and needs for financing.

Purpose; motivate and to learn how to commercialize research.

With this grant the Norwegian Research Council wants to focus on and to contribute to commercialization of new technology, and this is why we give PhD. candidates this grant of 15 000
NOK. Those who receive the grant will get an opportunity to explore the market potential and need for
further development and financing. The amount is based on two weeks salary and what’s left after direct cost or hired help is taxed as ordinary salary.

Important: Application for this grant is not to be mistaken as reporting ideas to the NTNU Technology Transfer Office, TTO. We will only encourage those who should report to the TTO, to do so. It is there fore not necessary to inform the TTO in advance of this application. The Grant is to be considered as an education opportunity with a mentor. It is scheduled several meetings between the receivers of the grant, and the entire grant period is finished with a presentation of the project and awards, where investors and other persons from the entrepreneurial community in Trondheim are present. All information is kept confidential.

There will be a “ceremony” for handing over the grants on Wednesday the 28th of January. There will be served cake and coffee. Part of the program is information about opportunities and available reassures for persons with ideas. After the ceremony there will be an information meeting for those who are awarded the grant. There will be arranged lectures as a help for those ho who receive the grant, related to developing a business plan. There will also be a written feed back on based on the meetings with the mentor in advance of the final deadline. The goal is that you during the grant period work out a business plan and in this process learn more about, how to commercialize research results. PT. Rio Tinto Indonesia in collaboration with Sampoerna Foundation provides one (1) qualified individual with the opportunity to pursue a Master`s degree in Science, Social Science or Commerce at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia.

Upon completing the program, scholar is under a (n+1) binding program with PT. Rio Tinto Indonesia, where n = the number of years receiving the scholarship grant. The scholar must apply their knowledge and contribute significantly to PT. Rio Tinto Indonesia for (n+1) year.

Basic Eligibility
Applicant must satisfy ALL of the following conditions:

• Indonesian citizen who is under 35 years of age when lodging the application.
• Hold a local Bachelor`s degree from any discipline with a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
• Have a minimum of two-year full-time professional work experience after the completion of the undergraduate degree.
• Submit the required English language requirement (TOEFL/ IELTS) and the Graduate Admission Test as required by each program, after the applicant is selected as the scholarship finalists:
  - International TOEFL with a minimum score of 577 (PBT) or 233 (CBT) or 90 (IBT), OR
  - International English Language Testing System (IELTS) of minimum 6.5
• Adhere with the scholarship rules and regulations, particularly in the (n+1) binding program with PT. Rio Tinto Indonesia.
• Currently did not enroll in graduate or post-graduate program, or obtained a Master`s degree or equivalent.
• Did not enroll or graduate from an overseas tertiary institution, unless was on a full scholarship.
• Do not receive other equivalent award or scholarship offering similar or other benefits at the time of the award.
• Demonstrate that without the scholarship, applicant is not able to afford an Overseas Graduate Program.

Scholarship Value
The scholarship` s worth is approximately AUD 68,000.- depending on the program`s fee, for the duration of study. This covers the following:

• Graduate Admission Test and TOEFL/ IELTS reimbursement, one time only, based on original invoice, for the test taken no more than 6 months prior to the scholarship application;
• University application fee;
• Student visa application fee;
• Return airfares from Jakarta to Sydney;
• Tuition fees, for the duration of study;
• Living allowance, to support living costs during period of study;
• Literature allowance, to purchase textbooks required for study.

• Thailand - 1 part scholarship

FULL SCHOLARSHIP
A full scholarship worth up to £20,500 will be available to self-funding applicants from anywhere in the world for 2009 entry. When awarding this scholarship, we will be looking for candidates who will:

• contribute significantly to the learning experience and professional diversity of the cohort
• become a successful ambassador for the business school after graduation.

1. MSc in Marine Science, Geology, Biology, or any physical science. Exceptional applicants without an MSc will also be considered.
2. Experience in isotope biogeochemistry, organic chemistry, or relevant coursework
3. Tropical fieldwork experience

5. The successful candidate must be accepted into the graduate program in the School of Earth Sciences at The Ohio State University
